Zeolite is a natural aluminosilicate mineral with a unique crystalline structure that provides excellent filtration and ion exchange properties. Its porous framework gives it a high surface area, allowing it to effectively trap suspended solids, ammonia, heavy metals, and other impurities.
In water treatment, Zeolite is widely used in filtration systems to improve water clarity, remove odours, and reduce ammonia levels. It also acts as a softening aid by exchanging sodium and potassium ions for hardness ions like calcium and magnesium.
